Huawei's new patented mobile phone exposure: using a foldable display
- May 18, 2018 -

Huawei has been working hard to innovate in mobile phone cameras, but the company has not neglected the research and development in display screens. Huawei has already obtained a new mobile phone patent. Its screen can be folded and can be opened and closed like a book.

The patent was submitted to WIPO on September 19 last year and was issued today. The device folding mechanism described in the patent looks similar to Microsoft's Surface Book, but the gap in the middle seems to be smaller.

In addition, the display described in the patent is a single panel, rather than two panels like the ZTE Axon M. The size of the tablet should be when the phone is fully opened. The patent does not describe how the device is used when it is turned off.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei's terminal CEO Yu Chengdong said in an interview after Germany released Mate 10 International in October last year that Huawei had already built a prototype of a foldable mobile phone inside, but the official is not yet ready to release this product. The earliest products will be available this year (2018). Huawei has higher requirements for folding screen mobile phones. For example, adopting more flexible screen technologies and better mechanical structures, officials are solving these problems.
