Market demand and basic knowledge of LCD liquid crystal display
Display is an important interface between humans and machines. Early CRT/Cathode Ray Tube displays were the mainstays. However, with advancements in technology, various display technologies have mushroomed. Recently, LCD monitors have become thin and light. , low power consumption, no radiation risk, flat right angle display, and image stability are not flickering, etc., in recent years, the price drop attracted by the gradual replacement of the CRT's mainstream position, the monitor is full of stars. So what are the new features of liquid crystal displays compared to traditional displays?
High quality display
Since each point of the liquid crystal display maintains that color and brightness after receiving the signal, it emits light constantly, unlike the cathode ray tube display (CRT), which needs to continuously refresh the bright spot. Therefore, the liquid crystal display has a high picture quality and never flickers, minimizing eye fatigue.
No electromagnetic radiation
The display material of traditional displays is a phosphor, which is displayed by the electron beam impinging on the phosphor. The electron beam generates strong electromagnetic radiation in the instant that it strikes the phosphor, although there are many display products that are currently compared to deal with radiation. Effective treatment minimizes radiation as much as possible, but it is difficult to completely eliminate it. In contrast, liquid crystal displays have an inherent advantage in preventing radiation because it does not have radiation at all. In the aspect of electromagnetic wave prevention, the liquid crystal display also has its own unique advantages. It adopts a strict sealing technology and a small amount of electromagnetic waves are enclosed in the display. In order to dissipate the heat, the ordinary display must make the internal circuit contact with air as much as possible. The electromagnetic waves generated by the internal circuits also leaked "outside" in large quantities.
Large viewing area
For the same size display, the liquid crystal display has a larger viewing area. The viewing area of a liquid crystal display is the same as its diagonal size. The cathode ray tube display has an inch or so frame around the front panel of the picture tube and cannot be used for display.
Compared with the traditional display, the liquid crystal display uses a purely flat glass plate at the beginning, and its display effect is a right angle of the plane, giving people a refreshing feeling. And the liquid crystal display is easier to achieve high resolution on a small area of the screen. For example, a 17-inch liquid crystal display can achieve a resolution of 1280×1024, and a resolution of 1280×1024 or more is generally used on an 18-inch CRT color display. The picture effect is not completely satisfactory.
Low power consumption
The traditional display is composed of many circuits. When these circuits drive cathode ray tubes, they need to consume a lot of power. With the increase of the volume, the power consumed by the internal circuits will certainly increase. In comparison, the power consumption of the liquid crystal display is mainly consumed in its internal electrodes and drive ICs, and thus the power consumption is much smaller than that of the conventional display.
