It is reported that LG Electronics has launched W8, E8 and C8 series OLED TVs in size of 55 inches and 65 inches in Taiwan, aiming to increase the shipment of OLED TVs in Taiwan by more than three times in 2018.
LG OLED TV Taiwan's shipments soared
According to data provided by LG, the new OLED TV adopts the advanced A9 processor developed by LG and supports 4K HFR 120P technology and four HDR formats: Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG Pro and Advanced Technicolor HDR.
In the first five months of 2018, LG sold 3,342 OLED TVs in the Taiwanese market, up from 2,434 in 2017. According to sources, from the January to May shipments, it is expected that by the end of 2018, LG's total shipments of OLED TVs in Taiwan will reach more than 12,000.
In addition, during the period from January to May, LG sold through OLED TV with a revenue of 130 million Taiwan dollars (about 4.27 million US dollars), accounting for 4% of the total sales of the Taiwan TV market during the period. This proportion is expected to climb to 8% by the end of 2018. The price of the 65-inch W8, E8 and C8 OLED TVs is NT$469,000, NT$219,000 and NT$179,000, respectively, while the 55-inch C8 is priced at NT$99,000.
