South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung is currently at the forefront of Micro LED display technology. It is reported that Samsung's so-called "Micro LED" TV is actually using Mini LED technology instead of Micro LED technology in the early stage of development.
It is reported that Samsung Jong-hee, head of Samsung's video and display business, said that Samsung will launch a home-style luxury "Micro LED" TV with a thickness of only 30 mm.
In addition, Samsung will launch the 146-inch MicroLED TV called "The Wall" before mass production in September. The TV was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2018 in January this year, with a thickness of 80 mm. It is reported that this Micro LED TV will be produced at Samsung's TV factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Han also said that the price of this TV will not be as high as expected by the market. Once the productivity is increased, the company will launch a luxury version and the price will become more affordable.
