According to foreign media reports, it is known to all that Apple, which occupies a majority share of the global high-end smart phone market with iPhone, is also the most profitable smart phone manufacturer in the world. The operating profit of their smart phones accounts for more than 80% in the whole industry for a long time.
Driven by the iPhone 14 series, which went on sale in September, Apple's iPhone shipments, revenue and operating profit accounted for a record share of the global smartphone industry last year, according to research reports.
Specifically, the iPhone accounted for 18% of global smartphone shipments last year, 48% of revenue and 85% of the industry's operating profit.
However, the research institute also reported that iPhone shipments, revenue and operating profit fell below the same period a year ago, even as global smartphone shipments declined and the iPhone 14 Pro series faced production challenges in the fourth quarter.
Global smartphone shipments fell to 1.2 billion units last year, the lowest annual total since 2013, the research institute said in its report.
