Recently, apple supply chain company lineup changes. In order to improve profitability, compal has decided not to undertake contract manufacturing orders for AppleWatch and iPad with limited growth and profit. The team serving apple has been disbanded and the staff has been transferred to other product lines or business units. After compal's departure, the orders will be taken over by lixun precision, byd and foxconn. Compal said it does not comment on specific customers.
Compal reported consolidated revenue of NT $267.858 billion (about US $9.08 billion) in the first quarter of 2022, down 27% from the previous quarter and 1% from the same period last year. Consolidated net operating income was NT $2.81 billion, down 28 percent from the previous quarter and 14 percent from the same period last year. Net income attributable to owners of the parent company was NT $2.157 billion in the first quarter, down 32 percent from the previous quarter and down 18 percent from the same period last year.
In addition, Apple has added a third contract manufacturer to its MacBook supply chain, which will primarily handle new MacBookAir assembly orders. Wintech has won orders for apple's just-announced new Mac models. The company joins Quanta and Foxconn as three companies in Apple's MacBook supply chain.
