Panasonic Released The First Commercial OELD Transparent Panel: Keep Transparent When Closed

DoNews, November 23 (Reporter Ding Fan) Recently 4 According to foreign media reports, Panasonic has turned the concept of data visualization in science fiction movies into reality. Panasonic said last year that it plans to release its first transparent OLED product in 2020, which has lived up to expectations. Recently, Panasonic officially released TP-55ZT110 and TP-55ZT100 transparent OLED displays.

The new transparent display has a size of 55 inches, a resolution of 1920×1080, and a weight of only 1.75 kg. The operating temperature range is limited to 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. TZ110 is suitable as a conventional display or a transparent display. The backplane includes a dimming unit. The dimming unit (developed by Panasonic) can change the display to "black mode", where the dimming unit reduces the light transmittance, that is, reduces the transparency of the TV, so the image quality is improved by increasing the contrast. Its thickness is 7.6 mm, while the thickness of TZ100 is only 3.8 mm. Panasonic said that compared with thicker transparent OLEDs, the TZ100 thin display can also improve transparency and reduce reflections.

These two frameless panels can be assembled into a composite display. The company said that assembly is not difficult. The power supply is in the form of a separate box with a weight of 1.75 kg. The weight of P-55ZT100 without sun visor is 8 kg, while the weight of TP-55ZT110 with sun visor is 14 kg.

Panasonic will begin selling its new displays in Japan and other Asian Pacific markets (Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand) in December 2020. Panasonic said that it can be used in retail stores, museums and commercial lounges. It can be used as a window, which remains transparent when closed, and can display content when opened.
