Samsung Electronics Will Use More BOE OLED Screens in The Galaxy YM Series

According to the latest news, Samsung is expanding the use of OLED displays in China to the Galaxy YM series, which will be launched in emerging countries soon. The move is interpreted as one of Samsung's cost-cutting measures to improve profitability amid the poor health of the IT product industry, including smartphones.

Samsung Electronics has signed an additional contract to expand the use of OLED panels made by BOE to its GalaxyM54 series, which will be launched in emerging countries including India and Southeast Asia, South Korean media reported, citing sources in the electronics industry on Monday.

According to sources, Samsung first applied to China's BOE last year to use its OLED screens in the GalaxyM52 and M53 series, and for the first time requested a larger number of OLED screens for the M54. Samsung Electronics delivered a production plan to BOE last week.

The Galaxy YM series, known as Galaxy Quantum in South Korea, together with the Galaxy Ya series accounts for about 70 percent of Samsung's total smartphone sales, the report said.

On whether BOE's OLED screen will be used in the Galaxy 54, Samsung Electronics said, "We cannot confirm the customer's details."
