Samsung said Tuesday it has developed a simulation platform with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) to evaluate the properties of OLED(organic light-emitting diode) materials, Yonhap news agency reported.
In support of its partners, Samsung has been working with the KISTI Supercomputing Application Center since 2020 to build a related simulation platform to help material suppliers save on the cost of purchasing similar software and hiring professionals in the field.
Samsung says any materials company, even if they are not a supplier of Samsung Display, can use the platform after agreeing to terms of use.
Changhee Lee, vice president of Samsung Display Research Institute, said, "The OLED market is expanding rapidly centered on mobile devices, and the organic materials market is also facing great growth opportunities. We will support the research and growth of related materials companies."
