Foreign media reported recently that Samsung Display will also increase the production of QD-OLED panels after increasing the yield of QD-OLED panels to 85 percent in the first half of the year.
Samsung's display QD-OLED panel production capacity is expected to increase to 40,000 substrates per month next year, up more than 30 percent from the current 30,000, an executive at the research institute said at a conference in Seoul on Thursday.
The agency's executives expect Samsung to show the ability to add 49-inch and 77-inch QD-OLED panels to their portfolio next year, thanks to increased production.
After the production ramp up, agency executives expect Samsung to show production capacity next year of 600,000 to 800,000 QD-OLED panels for displays and 1.4 to 1.6 million QD-OLED panels for TVS, up to 2.4 million next year.
