Hon Hai, the parent company of Foxconn, is the biggest winner in the assembly plant of Apple's new iPhone, which will be named after the iPhone 13, Taiwan's Economic Daily reported on July 5. For the first time, Dongguan based Lisun Precision has also entered the assembly plant.
According to the report, Hon Hai took all the orders for the new 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max and 68% of the 6.1-inch iPhone 13, according to the supply chain. Hon Hai also took about 60% of the order for another 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro.
In terms of contract order allocation, Hon Hai remained the main contract manufacturer, while Pegatron took the sole 5.4 "iPhone 13" orders and 32% of the 6.1 "iPhone 13" orders. In addition, Lison Precision (002475.SZ) received orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, accounting for about 40 percent of the orders.
The company has previously made devices such as Apple's AirPods, which, despite their elaborate stacks of components, are still far behind the iPhone in number. The company's entry into the assembly line is more a result of its acquisition of Wistron, a Taiwanese company that had previously been one of the iPhone's contract manufacturers. If it does well with the iPhone 13, it could take more orders away from Hon Hai in the future.
The iPhone 13 is expected to be released in September, and various sources have already leaked a number of information about the new iPhone. Among the more reliable sources: The iPhone 13 Pro series supports LTPO 120Hz refresh rate, adopts "small bangs", the rear cover camera module is enlarged, the dual camera is changed to a diagonal layout, and the main camera lens is standard equipped with Sender-Shift anti-shake technology.
