Han Kaist Has Developed Electronic Fibers That Can Drive OLED, Which Can Be Used In Clothing And Other Fields

Korean media YNA reported that wearable light-emitting electronic fiber has attracted much attention in the fields of clothing, functional clothing, medical treatment and automobile design, but it is difficult to realize practical application due to its limited electrical and optical properties when used as a panel.

The team designed a cylindrical fiber RGB phosphorescent OLED component structure with a diameter of 30(micron, 1 millionth of a meter), and then carried out a Deep coating process to produce an OLED electronic fiber with non-transport plane OLED device performance. Achieve 10,000 CD per square meter brightness and 60 CD per amp level of high efficiency.

The research group said that it has met the conditions of brightness, low power consumption and driving voltage as a display product.

Kaist researcher Hwang Yongha said it has the required technical elements for fiber display panels, which can be applied to various fields such as clothing and functional clothing.
