North American Semiconductor Equipment Makers Reported February Sales Of $3.14 Billion, A Record High For The Second Straight Month

Sales by North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers reached $3.14 billion in February 2021, up 3.2% month-on-month compared to January 2021 ($3.04 billion) and 32% year-over-year compared to February 2020 ($2.37 billion), according to the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI).


In January, North American semiconductor equipment makers topped $3 billion in sales for the first time, hitting a record $3.04 billion. North American semiconductor equipment makers topped $3 billion in sales again in February, a record high for the second month in a row.


Hit by semiconductor supply shortages, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Ford, Fiat Chrysler and Nissan have been forced to cut production or even stop production.
