The Shipments Of OLED TVS in 2021 Will Be Three Times That Of MiniLED TVS

According to Omdia's latest data, MiniLED TV shipments will reach around 2 million units in 2021, while OLED TV shipments are expected to reach around 6.5 million units in the same period, more than three times that of the former.

Omdia has been raising its OLED TV shipment forecasts. That compares with its original estimate for MiniLED TVS to ship 1.8 million units in May, which was later revised down.

According to its latest forecast, among the 2 million MiniLED TVS expected to be shipped this year, 1.5 million MiniLED TVS from Samsung and 300,000 MiniLED TVS from LG are included, and the rest will be occupied by Chinese enterprises.

According to south Korean media TheElec, citing sources, Samsung aims to ship 3 million MiniLED Neo QLED TVS next year.

In the first half of this year, LCD panel prices for MiniLED TVS rose and the price gap with OLED panels narrowed. Meanwhile, prices for OLED panels are falling as LG begins mass production at its Guangzhou plant. This makes OLED TVS more competitive on price.
